The lighting on this mirror is insufficient even on the brightest setting. It has four small light bulbs, two blue and two white. The older lighted makeup mirrors used two elongated fluorescent bulbs which provided much brighter light. I thought it was a bargain at 21.99, but then I had to buy a desk lamp to place next to it to supplement the lighting, so it turned out to be no bargain after all. The style, the mirrors, and the magnification are good... but I consider the lighting the most important feature of a lighted make up mirror. So to me, it is a disappointment.

I agree with the previous review that this mirror has bad lighting. I returned it for a refund. I then found the Jilbere mirror in the same style which does have real bright lighting and I am happy with it. Don't waste your money on the Conair.

I've used a regular Ott Lite for about eight or nine years for my jewelry/beading-making desk and have loved in for the bright, true light it creates, but had no idea that Ott Lite also made a make-up mirror until recently. I actually ordered it in the pink color since my bathroom vanity has pink accessories, and I just love it!In the past, I've had several different make-up mirrors from Conair and Revlon, but this out-does them all. The light is incredibly bright and true, so you can leave the house and know that your makeup isn't going to look odd. Also, the magnifying mirror on the back is nice for things like brow tweezing; I can't use it to apply makeup since it's too close-up for me. The mirror itself tilts, as does the surrounding area, so you can really position it all sorts of ways. In all the time that I've had my other Ott Lite, I'd never had to change the bulb, and I'm hoping that this makeup mirror is equally as well-made. The only negative thing I have to say about this mirror is that it sure makes my wrinkles and pores more noticeable, but, hey, that's not the mirror's fault, right?! ;- Overall, this is a great purchase! I love it so much that I'm going to be buying one for one of my best friends for her birthday.

I use to have a light a long time ago for applying make-up. I always loved it. It is a great thing to have one that has different light settings. I am so happy I have purchased this make-up lighted mirror. It really helps, Particularly since I have reached an age that requires more light and a specific mirror for applying make-up.

As expected from an Ott-Lite product it delivers. Clear natural light without shadows & the color was dead on. My make-up looked great no suprises when I went outsideZadro Ultimate Lighted Make-up Mirror.The mirror is large but having a rectangular mirror it's great for viewing your entire face. Application on mag side flip over to check the overall look. It's not fancy like a lot of the more expensive ones. But if you want your make-up to look perfect this is the right mirror. It also can be laid flat for storage. |

I've been searching and searching for a good lighted mirror for make up purposes. What I was looking for is bright natural light in order to truly see how my make-up look. There are hardly any reviews online for lighted mirrors, so I had to go to the stores and test them out myself. I bought a couple of them ranging from $15 to $100. I was disappointed with all of them. Either the light is too dim or the color of the light is weird, like orange light, even when I changed the bulb! The Zadro Ultimate Lighted Make-up Mirror was the best one I tested. It's very bright, so bright that I have to get closer to the mirror to see better b/c the light is overwhelmingly bright that that's all I can see, it makes everything else so dark. I didn't like that at first but I rather have that than the other dim lights on other mirrors. There are other features that I didn't think was important before turned out to be pretty useful and I am so glad they have them in this mirror. Those are the 8x magnifying side. It becomes so useful when I'm putting on mascara, plucking eyebrows or cleaning out my pores. Another feature that I started to like a lot is the little clock on it. It keeps me from spending too much time putting on make-up. =). The light stays bright even when you use batteries and it doesn't produce heat like the other lighted mirrors I've tried. It's portable, foldable so I can take it anywhere. The only thing I didn't like was the price I bought at Brookstone for $60 but then found it on Amazon for $30. I was so happy! Highly recommend this if you're seriously after a bright white light mirror.

Between the 8x magnification and the very bright fluorescent lighting, every pore will be clearly visible. Plenty big enough to put on all of your makeup, though I set it up on tissue box to get it even with my face.(1/24/11) After six years, mine is still working. I'm buying a second one for my office. (3/12/11) Bought a second mirror and had to return it. The light only worked with batteries and quit working whenever I plugged it into an outlet. The light also was not as bright as on my first one.

I like the portability and adjustability of this mirror. It takes up little space and can be stowed away very compactly. It serves my needs very well. I was disappointed that only the magnifying mirror is lit. I tend to use the normal mirror more often. The other is the clock loses it's setting when I stow it away. It has to be reset and left out if you were really wanting to use the clock feature. As far as I am concerned...I was looking for a mirror and really could care less about the clock.
